About Ski Diva Photography
In a moment in time, I needed a “handle,” and Ski Diva popped into my world. It just fit. Skiing has been my passion since I was two years old—back when I could barely see over the snowbanks and would fall asleep on the chairlift between runs. There are pictures from those early days, tiny skis and big smiles, already capturing the essence of who I was becoming.
My love for photography began not long after. My father had a 35mm film camera encased in worn leather that I was endlessly fascinated by. In junior high, I finally got my chance—enrolling in a photography class where I learned to shoot, develop, and print my own film. The process mesmerized me. Finding the balance between light and shadow, the crispness between blur and clarity—it became an obsession to get that perfect shot.
As time and technology evolved, so did my camera and my eye. I took my own 35mm film camera across Africa and Europe, shooting over a hundred rolls of film. Every frame was a story I didn’t want to lose, a moment I wanted to freeze in time. I spent an entire summer’s pay developing those rolls, but it was worth every penny.
Photography, like skiing, has always been about motion, light, and emotion for me. Whether I’m carving through fresh powder or framing the perfect image, it’s all about the same pursuit—capturing the feeling of being fully alive in the moment.
With the birth of my first child, that desire to capture life became even more personal. I wanted to hold onto those fleeting moments—for her, and for myself. I embraced digital photography, exploring new technology and expanding my creative reach. As she grew, so did my understanding of light, lenses, and storytelling through the camera.
When my second child arrived, my passion deepened. Watching my children grow, explore, and discover the world inspired me to document every chapter—the laughter, the movement, the milestones. As their activities and adventures expanded, so did my equipment, my eye, and my technique. I found pure joy in framing their moments into our forever memories.
Over the years, my craft has evolved into more than just a passion—it’s become a calling. My eye has grown sharper, my sense of timing more intuitive, and my love for connection through imagery stronger than ever. I would be honored to help you capture your own story—the moments that matter most—so you can hold them in your forever memories.
